The article is devoted to the exhibition held in February-April this year in Moscow "Empire and the Caucasus. Weapons, uniforms, military traditions. XIX - beginning of XX century" in the All-Russian Mu-seum of Decorative Arts. The exhibition was organized by the museum in a wide collaboration with the State Research Institute for Restoration, the investment company Veles Capital and a number of other museums and cultural organizations. It is important to note that the exhibits for the exhibition were provided by a large number of private collectors. The curators of the exhibition paid the main attention to the exhibition to such topics as the decorative art of the Caucasus; historical and collection weapons; military ammunition and uniforms of the Caucasian army; the history of the Great Caucasian War of the 19th century; history and cul-ture of the Caucasian Cossacks (Linear, Kuban and Tersky); Own His Imperial Majesty the Convoy; the his-tory and culture of the highlanders of the Caucasus; the interpenetration and mutual influence of the cultures of the Caucasus and the Russian Empire. By the opening of the exhibition, the organizers published an ex-tensive and richly illustrated catalog, as well as created a number of special Internet resources available on the exhibition website, on the organizers' websites and on social networks. The exposition of the exhibition attracted well-deserved attention of both specialists - collectors, restorers, museum curators and experts, uni-form reenactors, as well as numerous scientists studying the history and culture of the Caucasus, Cossacks and Caucasian Cossacks, as well as cultural figures and the general public. The exhibition caused a wide public response, news channels, numerous publications in the press and the Internet, as well as heated dis-cussion on social networks.
